I am an assistant professor in the Department of Communication at the University of California, San Diego.

I am proud founding member and now member of the Board of Directors of the AjA Project, an amazing non-profit dedicated to visual arts education for immigrant and refugee youth.

I dream of opening a Bob Dylan karaoke bar — imaginatively conceived — on the US-Mexico border.

I root for the 76ers and Eagles of my hometown, Philadelphia.

The most meaningful labor I've engaged in was coordinating a campaign to free my brother and two of his friends from their unjust detention in Iran. It led up to this moment.
